The Arts
Here is a sample of my extracurricular artistic work.
First, a short film that served as the ending scene of my Drama Club’s 2012 play, “Chatroom” by Enda Walsh. Jim, the leading role, which I portrayed, enters a coffee shop with a decision to make: he will either end his life because he is alone, or he will find a reason not to.
I have always loved music. I started studying the piano in 2001, and have played ever since; I also picked up the guitar in 2011, and have since enjoyed the option of carrying my own instrument! Here are two recordings performing Chopin’ Military Polonaise, Opus 40 #1…
… and La Valse D’Amelie, one of my favorite melodies of all times.
On April 4, 2013, while still a junior in high school, I initiated and organized (with the help of my school’s fund drive office) a concert with the accomplished Greek singer and songwriter Lavrentis Machairitsas. Our orchestra accompanied the musician in a sold-out event that raised more than 20,000 euro. Here’s a short excerpt from the concert in which I am playing the keyboards (synthesizer):
Finally, here’s a performance from Harvard Summer School’s Talent Show in 2013, in which we cover Simon & Garfunkel’s Sound of Silence (I am on the left).
